Post editing

Cut costs with machine translation post-editing

The benefit of machine-generated translations using current MT systems such as DeepL, Google, Microsoft is undisputed. However, machine translation quality is still lower than human translation standards. In this case, post-editing is used to achieve a comparably good result, i.e. revision by our qualified linguists. The post-editor checks the text for completeness and accuracy, corrects errors in content and, where appropriate, reviews specialist terminology.

During the preparation phase, we check with our customers if light or full post-editing is required. Light post-editing produces an accurate and easy-to-understand text. Full post-editing results are similar to a human translation. In order to assess whether post-editing of the machine-translated text achieves the required quality or whether human translation is more suitable, the post-editor first of all checks the quality of the MT and the subject's level of difficulty.
